Examples of design work in embedded systems
- Microcontroller-based mode-lock controller for HeNe laser used in metrology systems (includes digital servo loop driving a plasma tube heater controller and data acquisition from a 2 channel analog mode detector). An RS232 interface provides control functions and status query information.
- Industry's first microcontroller-based combustible gas detector. Eight channel UL / CSA approved controller provides automatic sensor calibration. Remote sensor electronics use novel constant temperature bridge circuit with high efficiency switchmode power control of catalytic bead sensors and 12 bit-accurate 4-20 mA current output. Options include RS-232, 8 channel analog output, and 8 channel low / high alarm outputs.
- Microcontroller-based optical fiber aligner has LED pass / fail indication for correct fiber alignment in pneumatic chuck.
- Triple-output laboratory power supply with constant current / constant voltage modes and remote sensing. Options include RS232 and USB interfaces.
- Low-noise microcontroller-based adapter board for head stack assembly tester includes low distortion high bandwidth differential video amplifier using Gilbert topology and ECL glue logic.
- Noise dosimeter with integral microphone provides dBA-weighted noise exposure level as a percentage of full dosage.
- Experience using TI's Code Composer Studio and development tools.
- Experience with TI TMS32024x serial of DSP controllers.
- Experience using Motorola's 56000 family of DSP controllers.
